Philanthropy Week
Each February, Alpha Phi holds an annual Philanthropy Week to raise money for Women’s Cardiac Care. This year, our Philanthropy Week consisted of a Heart Throb Pageant, a Stoplight Dance, Alpha-Traz, and a Blood Drive.
The Heart Throb Pageant was hosted by SUU’s own John McNaughton, and was composed of six male participants from various SUU organizations. These young men competed in Talent, Formal Wear, and Interview segments of the pageant and were voted on by a panel of three Alpha Phi judges. Many students attended the pageant and it was an entertaining experience that left the entire audience crying from laughing so hard.
The Stoplight Dance was co-sponsored by SUUSA and was a fun dance for singles to wear green, couples to wear red, and those who are unsure to wear yellow.
Alpha-Traz was an event held in the Rotunda, where various members of organizations were “kidnapped” and held hostage in Alpha-Traz until someone posted bail. This event was very successful, and many people stopped by to donate and release their friends.
The Blood Drive was the last event. Our goal was to acquire 25 units, and we ended up with 31! There were so many people willing to donate and we couldn’t have been happier.
The entire week’s events not only promoted Women’s Cardiac Care, but they raised over $650 to send in to the Alpha Phi Foundation!
Red Dress Gala
Every year following our Philanthropy Week, we hold an annual Red Dress Gala. It is a formal event where our family, friends, and alumnae came for a silent auction, cardiac care education, and a delicious banquet. This year, Philanthropy Week and the Red Dress Gala combined raised over $6,000 for our Foundation!

Move Your PHI't 5K
The Move Your PHI't 5K is a 5-Kilometer Fun Run or Walk. Community members and other students participate in this fun event and all of the proceeds go to benefit Women's Cardiac Care. In the past, ROTC has partnered with us to assist with running the 5K.

Breast Cancer Awareness Games
Alpha Phi has partnered with SUU Athletics to host various athletic events to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer. We have been involved with Soccer, Gymnastics, Football, and Softball events to support this cause.

Sub For Santa Gift Drive
Every year around Christmas, Alpha Phi purchases gifts for children in need. It is our hope to fill their holiday season with joy and love, spreading the holiday cheer.
