The Process

  • Recruitment

If you are interested in participating in Recruitment and feel like Greek Life is for you, take a second to register for recruitment by visiting http://stilsuu.com/how-to-join.

During the Fall and Spring semesters, there is a formal recruitment period known as Rush Week.  It usually takes place the second or third week of the semester and is a great way to kick off the start of a new school year.

The week begins with an All-Greek activity, usually a BBQ, to help introduce everyone to the Greek System as a whole and help them get a better idea of where they would fit in best.

During the next few days, each organization holds activities of their own.

    Alpha Phi activities will be:

Tuesday; "Puppy Love" - Come out and help make small toys to help our local animal shelters! There will be free food and a great opertunity to meet the sisters!

Wednesday; "What to Wear" - Learn what values the women of Alpha Phi wear! As always free food and meet more sisters!

Preference Night - This night is invitation only.

Bid Day - Invitation Only. This is the day that women are invited to become a new member of Alpha Phi!  We celebrate with a Bid Day Party!

Although it is not mandatory to come to all of these events, it helps us get to know you better and it helps you get to decide if Alpha Phi is for you.  We encourage you to come out and explore both sororities on campus so that you ultimately find the best place for you!

What Should I Expect as a New Member?

After the recruitment process, Alpha Phi chapters organize a six-week new member period called The Prelude to introduce you to our beloved Fraternity. This period allows you to get to know the other members of your new member class, the chapter members and Alpha Phi’s rich history.

Your period as a new member is the first opportunity to understand the meaning of our organization and the values and ideals upon which she was founded. It also provides you with an introduction to the responsibilities, expectations and opportunities of membership.

New Member classes are only an hour long and they meet before our regular Chapter Meetings on Mondays.  After this new member period, New Members begin their I-Days (or Inspiration Days) and an Initiation is held for them to become an initiated member of Alpha Phi.
